How to analyse drone footage to find a lost pet
You do not need a drone that the app can fly. Fly your search as usual, record it, and let the app go through every frame on the memory card looking for animals.

Record so that the AI can see
- Height: 20 to 25 m above the ground.
- Camera straight down or at 60°; 45° along tree lines.
- Video in 4K or 2.7K, at the highest quality. Or photos every 2 seconds.
- Turn on video subtitles (.SRT) if your drone has them: they hold the position of every second, so the detections land on the map.
- Fly slowly and steadily, about 5 m/s.
Analyse the card
- Connect the microSD card to the phone with a card reader.
- Open the app and choose the photos and videos. They are not copied: the app reads them where they are.
- The AI looks at every frame, on the phone. You can stop and carry on later: it does not repeat what it has already checked.
- Review the possible animals one by one: close-up, the moment in the video and, when the file carries the position, the place on the map.
What it finds and what it misses
In our test set of 30 aerial frames with a dog and 139 without, the analysis on a computer found 29 of the 30 dogs with 6 false alarms. It flags rocks, bags and shadows, and a dog half hidden under a bush can slip through. It narrows the search; someone still has to look.
Check how your drone stores its position.
