DJI Mini 3 Pro: searching for a lost animal
Supported through card analysis: you fly, the app looks for the animal in your footage.
Flying the DJI Mini 3 Pro from the app is planned for Android, the only system DJI supports for this model. Until then, fly the search yourself, record, and let the app analyse the card.

Suggested search settings
- Height: 20 to 25 m above the ground. Higher than that, a dog becomes a few pixels in the video and is easy to miss.
- Camera: pointing straight down or at 60° for open ground; 45° helps to see under the edge of trees.
- Video: 4K or 2.7K if the drone has it, at the highest bit rate. Every frame is analysed.
- Subtitles: turn on video subtitles (.SRT) in the camera settings, so every detection lands on the map.
At 25 m, one battery of the DJI Mini 3 Pro covers 20 hectares, about 49 acres, in parallel lines. That assumes 20 % overlap between lines, 5 m/s and two thirds of the battery, keeping a reserve for wind and the way back. Thick cover or a hillside means more lines and less ground.
Before you fly
Check the rules where you are: drone laws by country. Even under 250 g, the DJI Mini 3 Pro needs operator registration in Europe and the UK because it has a camera.
